The Dance Season

Each dance season consists of 10 months of dance classes from September to the middle of June.  July and August are our summer time schedule and the classes offered are completely different.  See Summer Events for more information.  View the full season calendar with all the important dates our families will need to know.  Please note:  Stay aware as event dates are subject to change. Dance Works is OPEN as normal when public schools have half-days, early dismissal, teacher work day, etc.  Dance Works is OPEN most State and Federal holidays.  See Calendar above for complete list for all dates. INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the event of inclement weather (snow, hurricanes, nor’easters, etc.), we follow the lead of the local area public schools.  If Newport News and York County Schools CLOSE due to inclement weather in the area or pending weather to the area then, we will also be closed.  In the event the schools call for a MORNING DELAY, our schedule will NOT change unless otherwise noted.

Notifications will be sent out via emails on our website and via social media.

Please check email, website, or social media before calling the studio number to prevent chaos.

Closings are of course for the safety of our dancers and staff.  If a closing occurs, dancers are permitted to make-up their class by attending another class (the same or similar in their age range) within one month of the cancelled class.  See Class Absences for more details.  There will be no compensation or refunds made for classes cancelled due to inclement weather or an emergency situation.
